Selema is a leading Italian manufacturer of drives with integrated mechatronic solutions having nominal currents ranging from 0.5 A. to 40 A and voltages from 230 Vac to 400 Vac for brushless, AC brushless, linear and torque motors. The range of brushless and AC brushless motors comprises torques between 0.16 Nm and 48 Nm, along with linear and torque motors and motors with integrated electronics. Selema operations are split into two divisions, Automation and Printed Circuits, with separate but adjoining works extending over a total covered area of 3000 square metres. The Automation Division concentrates on drive manufacture, producing around 6000 units a year. The activities taking place within this division include hardware and software design, functional qualification testing, electromagnetic compatibility testing and certification of prototypes and acceptance tests (functional test and 72-hour in-circuit, thermal, optical analysis and burn-in tests). Originally set up to meet the internal requirements of the automation division, the Printed-Circuit Division is now open to the market as a whole, offering technological solutions and materials capable of meeting the most exacting requirements. In the near future, the company headquarters just outside Bologna will be extended with the construction of another building of 1000 square metres that will be used partly as office space and partly as a manufacturing facility. Selema generates 80% of its sales by working for Italian customers who export their machines all over the world. The company's domestic business employs a network of qualified dealers and system integrators, whilst after-sales assistance and technical support is provided directly from its headquarters.
